Formed in Naples, Italy, in November 2015 by brothers Graziano (drums) and Salvatore (bass), Jumpscare started as an alternative/groove metal outfit inspired by Sepultura, In Flames, Linkin Park, and Killswitch Engage. After releasing their first demo Broken Lands and signing with B-SIDE Music, they recorded Three Marks Of Dreams (2016), gaining early local recognition.
Following lineup changes and a shift toward melodic death metal, the band joined Volcano Records in 2017, releasing the EP Sowing Storms and sharing the stage with acts like Edu Falaschi, Rhapsody of Fire, Dreamshade, DGM, and Despite Exile. In 2019, with new vocalist Ciro “Kirion” Silvano, they self-released their debut album Don’t Close Your Eyes through their own label Vault Lab Recordings. The album earned critical acclaim worldwide, appearing alongside major names such as Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth, and In Flames, and securing endorsement deals with Trick, Skull Strings, Diril Cymbals, and others.
Jumpscare toured Italy and Eastern Europe, opening for Venom Inc and Ancient, but pandemic restrictions halted plans. During lockdown, they released charity compilations, tribute tracks, and a cassette edition of Don’t Close Your Eyes via Reborn Through Tapes, joining a roster including Cannibal Corpse, Kreator, and Bolt Thrower. Post-pandemic, they resumed touring, organized the Valle Caudina Metal Fest, and expanded into European markets.In 2024, the band entered the studio for a new, fully self-produced album, collaborating with Seb Di Martino (SDM Recording Studio) and Simone Pietroforte (Divergent Studios) for production, mixing, and orchestration. This upcoming release marks a bold evolution—merging melodic/symphonic death metal, post-black, deathcore/metalcore, and progressive elements—while honoring their groove metal roots and embracing a more experimental, modern extreme metal identity.

The lyrics explores deep existential themes, prompting introspection on life’s meaning amidst its transient nature: Our “dear” Mother Nature: the same hand that can be cruel also knows how to forgive. This is her order, indifferent yet just in its own way: not a perfect world, but the only world we have, and for this very reason, we must learn to understand and respect it.
